May 2026:  Spring has (sort of) sprung!

Eaglexit is forever grateful for all the support of time and money that you, our community of friends and family, have entrusted with us. We believe that with faith and commitment, we will succeed.

As you have heard, this will be the largest boundary change in the history of the state. It will impact over 40% of the state’s population. It will provide to the new Chugach Regional Borough a jurisdictional area of over 1,000 square miles. This is a multi-billion-dollar transaction.

It takes all of us!

  • Time – Get involved. Talk to people. Sharpen your debate skills and your knowledge. Keep track of the crazy stuff the Assembly keeps trying to do—believe me, they like to keep us on our toes.

  • Effort – Share with friends and neighbors.

  • Participation – come to our next Town Hall and bring your friends and family!

  • Walk with us – Walk with us in the Chugiak July 4 parade and help us give out candy.

  • Walk again – Walk with us in the Bear Paw parade. We’ll have an amazing time, see the whole community and make new friends.

Event Schedule:

May:

Next Town Hall: Tuesday, May 19

(yes it’s this coming Tuesday)

7:00pm to 8:00pm

The Parks and Rec / Library Conference Room

12001 Business Blvd. #170, Eagle River, Alaska 99577

This is Part 3 of our Budget discussion. The most common questions we get are

·        “Can we afford to detach?”

·        “How will we pay for government?”

·        “Will we still receive all of the services we are getting now?”

·        “What about Police, Fire, EMS, etc.”

Lance Roberts will once again talk about the affordability of detaching our district from Anchorage and setting up a brand new government. What can we do now to ensure the greatest success after detachment and incorporation? What will the new Assembly be tasked with? Will the new mayor have a role in all of this? … and much more.

June:

Town Hall: Tuesday, June 23

7:00pm to 8:00pm

Odd Man Rush

10930 Mausel Street, Eagle River, AK 99577

*** Free Pizza! ***

GUEST SPEAKER: Sharon Lechner, former OMB director for Anchorage. She will be speaking on how we will divide assets and liabilities (bonds), and how we can come out ahead when we detach from Anchorage. She's amazing, interesting, and incredibly knowledgeable.

July:

Chugiak July 4th Parade:

We will have a float in the Chugiak July 4 parade. We welcome anyone and everyone from our community (Eagle River, Chugiak, Birchwood, Eklutna, JBER and surrounding area) to walk with us and help us hand out stuff (lots of candy).

Bear Paw Parade: Saturday, July 11:

Once again we will have an amazing float with lots of color, action and fun. We have thousands of cool give-aways too. If you would like to walk with us in the parade, please contact me at 907-830-5456 or email me at catherine.eaglexit@gmail.com. Please come walk with us, help us hand out cool give-aways, and show support for a great cause.

Bear Paw Booth: July 8-July 12: Please come visit us at our Bear Paw booth. We'll have give-aways, swag (hats, tshirts, etc.), and lots of information. Come and debate with us on the merits and/or drawbacks of detaching our district from the MOA!

August:

Town Hall: Thursday, August 6

7;00pm to 8:00pm

Location TBD

Speakers: Our Education Team will once again present the new Chugach Regional Borough School District. This team has put together their dream education system after days and weeks of researching how successful schools do it. If you have children in the Anchorage school system, you don't want to miss this one!

*** NOTE *** We are changing our donation vendor to a local company, so the Donate button on the web site is currently not working. We will send out an announcement when it’s back up.
